James and I began this blog at the very beginning of our pregnancy with Wyatt to share and update our new adventures as we became pregnant and start the new season of parenthood. Sixteen weeks into pregnancy, I had to go into surgery to ensure our son would not come too early and shortly after, we found out Wyatt has Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH). This is our humble attempt at being transparent and hopefully sharing the joys and love of Christ through this roller coaster ride we're on. And now to share even more with the new miracle on the way.

12 Weeks

Our 1st Trimester is almost over!
How far along? 12 weeks
Total weight gain: starting weight = 137.... I go back and forth between 1 pound and 0 pounds.
Maternity clothes?  I bought a shirt and skirt but I am not wearing it yet.  It was on sale, spring looking and too cute to pass up.  I am using a hair tie to loosen my pants some and  a belly band for my jeans.  My black slacks have always been a little too big so they still fit.  I can only get into 2 pairs of my jeans right now... they have stretch- my new best friend.  :-)  I am looking at getting some leggings from Gap and I found a CHEAP maternity website that I will probably order from!  YIPPIE!

Stretch marks? nope.  Ronix doesn't have any either, he ate an entire tube of coco lotion, needless to say it didn't stay in him long... yuck!
Sleep: I have to get up to pee once a night and I'm waking up lightly several times a night but being in bed by 9 is helping me to get enough sleep.
Best moment this week: Getting to hear and see our baby twice!!!

Miss Anything? non-decaf coffee
Movement: bunches as I could see on the sonogram but I can't feel any of it yet.

Food cravings: pizza, cinnamon roles (I finally made some this morning!)
Anything making you queasy or sick: James and I went to eat once and I got a whiff of something that sent me to the restroom but I didn't get sick thank goodness.  My nose is just on overdrive.  Thankfully, no morning sickness at all.
Gender: Hoping for a boy but will praise God for a healthy baby regardless of sex.  Doc says we can see if we can tell at our 16 week appointment. Yeah!
Labor Signs: this would be very bad news at this point

Symptoms: tender and large breast, frequent peeing, bloating, exhaustion!
Belly Button in or out? still in
Wedding rings on or off? on of course
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy most of the time.  I get a little cranky and snippy when I'm tired.
Looking forward to: actually having a bump that doesn't look like blubber and finding out if its a boy or a girl. :-)

We got to share the exciting news with our family over Christmas.  Our parents each had 1 extra gift to open and one of these onesies were inside.  I tried to keep them as gender neutral as possible but some girly fabrics are just too cute to pass up!  If it is a boy, then he can just wear them under something else and no one will know the difference!  :-) I made 7 of these but here are 2 of them just for show!

This is a picture I sent to several of our friends, family, coworkers and my students' families at school to let them in on the excitement we're feeling!

I'll try to get all of our sonograms scanned in this week and get those posted as well.  We've had 3 so far, 9 weeks, 11 weeks and 12 weeks.  I'll have to (not complaining one single bit) get a sonogram at each month's doctor appointment due to the coneoscopy (sp?) I had back in October 2008.  I knew something other then a clean bill of health would come out of that some day!  :-)

  1. Just wanted to say CONGRATS on Baby Davis. That is thrilling. I hope your pregnancy is beyond smooth. Love your weekly pictures and those onesies are adorable!
